Dating coke bottles

Today I’m sharing this Cherry Coke Fudge in honor of one of my dear friends who inspires me each and every day. She makes it to her daughter’s swim meets in spite of only getting a few hours of sleep the night before. There’s a lot more I could say but I’m sure I’ve embarrassed her enough with just this. I have a special treat for Ann this week and I know she’s going to love it. I am IN LOVE with these personalized Coca-Cola bottles!

She takes care of her mom who just had back surgery and drives an hour to work each way. and somehow manages not to make me feel like the laziest person alive. I ordered THREE separate times because I kept thinking of names and different words I wanted on the bottles.

I would encourage anyone interested in makers’ marks on beer bottles (and soda bottles) to check out his site…..he has a extensive list with alot of great material on obscure glass and pottery companies here: Manuf Beer ******************************************************************************** Usually embossed on the base, marks may also appear on the lower heel area on certain types of bottles, especially sodas. On earlier flasks, fruit jars, and soda bottles, and especially examples produced in the mid-nineteenth century period (1840s-1860s), the full factory name or initials may be embossed across the front. In the early 1890s, Congress passed taxes on bottled beer, along with legislation allowing companies to bottle their brews onsite and bypass an archaic process of barreling, transporting, and packaging their drinks into bottles elsewhere.Prior to this action, beer bottles often featured a bottling credit on them in addition to the name of the brewer, which is one way to date a beer bottle.
